How Do I Rate Books?

Written by:

I rate books in a way that makes sense to me. I use a 5-star rating system.

I’m looking for how a story pulls me in, world-building(if applicable), spice level (this is only important for spicy books), the quality of writing, flow of the story and how it makes me feel. If a book was recommended to me and it doesn’t live up to the recommendation, this also gets added into my review.

I will DNF any book I don’t vibe with but I try to give every book at least 50 pages. HOWEVER, unless it’s a truly awful book, I won’t review a DNF.

I am fair and honest, even if it’s a little harsh at times. But life is too short to read awful books!
